All sizes are approximate, we state / offer the sizes of the specimens we have in stock within the product description.

We do not offer or guarantee specific sexes unless specified on the product title or description, even then we can make mistakes and are not liable.

We may sex at request however this is still not a guarantee.

We reserve the right to change prices without prior notice.

We reserve the right to refuse any order at our discretion.

​

Payment is in advance unless by prior arrangement.

The livestock supplied is free from any noticeable parasites and diseases.

We cannot be held responsible for any ill health that later develops.

You must be at least 18 years old to register an account with us. If you are younger than 18 years old, you will need to ask a parent or guardian to order on your behalf.

 

By placing an order with The Mantis House you acknowledge and accept the terms the conditions stated here which can be amended at our discretion at any time.

Packaging & Delivery

Orders in England, Scotland and Wales

We use Royal mail next day delivery by 1pm for LIVE Mantis & Invert parcels.

This is a signed for service.

Next day from the day of dispatch.

Please remember it is only ND Delivery for the Inverts saftey not for your convienince, it is the safest method of transportation, hence it is Next Day from the day of dispatch not time of order.​

 

Packaging

All parcels are marked “fragile” and with a label advising "LIVE INSECTS"

The postal charge for this UK orders is weight based. This covers the cost of delivery and the cost of the packing materials. In cold periods a heat pack will automatically be added.

When we dispatch

We post to UK addresses every Tuesday & Wednesday (arriving next day by 1pm) and will dispatch all orders made and paid for by 10:00am on the previous day.

Please note under occasional circumstances posting days may change, earlier/later then expected, if this is problematic for you due to work ect please specify in the notes section when ordering what works for you, and I will do my best to accomodate.

Tracking Numbers

Tracking numbers are provided when parcels are sent for delivery next day by 1pm. You will receive your tracking number the day of packing 2 days before your parcel arrives. Occasionally your email will be sent the day of dispatch.

Postponing

We reserve the right to postpone shipping when we feel it is either to hot or cold to ship livestock.

​I will not send livestock close to a bank holiday weekend as it puts the inverts health at risk.​

​

Incorrect Address Information

Any mistakes with addresses being incorrect and labels already being printed the customer will incur extra postage costs, or can attempt to change the address via Royal Mail.

Please contact MH through the website for any address errors as I do not check social pages everyday.

Any related issues to the health or death of live inverts/plants is then Not the responsibility of Mantis House.

Any changes to your orders address by the customer after dispatch will null the Live Arrival Guarantee.

If you miss Royal Mail's first Special delivery attempt,  Live Arrival Guarantee will be Null and void.

Changing your mind

As with anything we all change our mind and that is not a problem.

However, if I have already purchased and printed your label and pre packed ect, I will not be able to refund your full order straight away.

The label costs will be returned to you seperately once I have been refunded by Royal Mail, this can take 2+ weeks.

Please understand this is not my error nor do I have control over Royal Mail.

Delays due to Royal Mail

Any parcels sent via any other Royal Mail services

If for any reason your package does not get delivered within the correct time frame you understand that it is Royal Mail and not Mantis House who are accountable for the delay.

Mantis House will endeavour to rectify these situations as quickly and respectfully as possible.

​

If an item has still not arrived within a week, I will move onto making a claim for the contents of said parcel, I can then only compensate you once the items have either been delivered to you or 10 days since due date has arrived. This has only happened once in 3 years.

If anything delivered is damaged a photo of the evidence is required upon unboxing and is to then be sent directly to Mantis House, a refund can then be initiated and processed.

Returns​

If you have received your parcel and have changed your mind on any of the items, you must package them back up safely and enquire for the return address, postage will be at your cost.

I do not accept opened or used returns, items must be in there original state.

Substitutions

Occasionally I will substitute a decor item if the item you have chosen has just gone out of stock, I will match it as closely as possible.

If there is not a viable alternative I will refund for that item/s.

 Live stock will never be substituted.

Postage Options

If you have chose LIVE ND delivery and have no live inverts your parcel will be sent Tracked 24.

Always check the postage options.

Please bear in mind RM increase the prices frequently and I have to match mine accordingly.

Currently for a live small 500g Parcel which contains inverts the price is £8.35.

Costings for boxes, heat packs and packaging materials are added on and we now use a weight based system at checkout.

​Shipping to Northern Ireland

​Tarantulas under CITES cannot be dispatched to Ireland and any orders with such in it will be cancelled and refunded.

Shipping may take longer due to occasional RM issues, this cannot be helped and Mantis House is not liable for any DoA.

Stock Arriving Dead or Damaged

​

12 Hour Live Arrival Guarantee

​

If stock arrives dead or damaged I will give a full refund for the value of the stock sent, but not for the postage costs.

If this occurs, please advise me immediately by e mail that the invert has arrived dead or damaged together with a photo of the dead/damaged invertebrate.

If the invert is damaged we can access how to deal with the situation together. Usually if it's a limb or similar damage due to transit this will grow back.

I will then refund for the dead stock, or, if another postage charge is paid, or order is put through I will replace free of charge if stock allows.

I will not entertain any claims for dead, dying or injured stock if not advised to me, with photographic proof, within 12 hours of being delivered.

I cannot except returns of LIVE Inverts, Please be aware before purchasing.

You must be at home for the arrival and of your new friend to unbox them immediately to check on them, this is a Live creature that requires care and attention. Failure to unbox within a reasonable time frame will void your 12 hour live guarantee. 

The live arrival guarantee is void if no one is present to receive and sign for the package on the arranged day resulting in a delay in transit.

Stock arriving immobile and cold

​

If this is the case, please follow the instructions below:

Unpack the box carefully.

Lay out the livestock carefully so that air can circulate around them.

Place the animals in a warm room 15 to 25 degrees C.

Do not place on radiators / heat pads etc.

Allow up to 4 hours for full recovery of the animal.

Most animals will recover fully if they are treated correctly on arrival.

Casters

​

If your casters are not hatching I refer you to the websites fly hatching guide. Very rarely do they not hatch and when this does happen your care of them needs to be checked, I.e not suffocating them, too hot, too cold, too moist ect.

 

Unfortunately, like all live creatures I cannot control what happens to them out of my care and with that I do not offer refunds on casters.

 

We have had a couple of known cases this year of unhatched bluebottled due to the heatwaves of summer, but again thats luck of the draw.

The same batch was tested and in an experiment found to hatch without issue here at MH.

We reserve the right to limit the quantities of any products or services that we offer.
